Elections were held in March of 2009 and our club has new leaders. Here are them talking about themselves:
1. President: Ke Shi
Hello, I am Ke Shi, a Ph.D. student in the Food Science Department. I received my B.S. degree in Biochemistry in Nanjing University, China and my M.S. degree in Applied Biomolecular Technology in University of Nottingham, UK. The graduate study is very challenging but rewarding. Because of our GSA, we all feel connected with each other and receive many help whenever needed. Also, our GSA activities bring a lot of fun to everybody. So it's a great honor for me to serve as the president of our GSA. With your passion and participation, I'm confident that our GSA will continue to be the best. |

Hello all, I am Meenakshi Khurana, currently a Ph.D student. I received my Bachelors degree in Food Technology from India and M.S. from Rutgers University. My journey so far at Rutgers has been a great learning experience including the energizing and fun filled GSA activities. I feel proud and honored to serve as the Vice President of this association and hope that together we can bring in new activities. So get involved to spice up your routine and have lots of fun with us. |

| 3. Treasurer: Hayley Schultz | |
Hi! I am Hayley and I am treasurer for the Food Science GSA. I earned a BS in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002. Then I moved to the Midwest to find fame and fortune in Indiana. However, David Letterman and John Mellencamp had already secured the "fabulous wealth" market so I settled for a job in the pharmaceutical industry. After a wonderful experience in the Quality Control and Pharmaceutical Development groups I decided to join my husband in New York City. Luckily, Rutgers is practically right down the street. Luckier still, I have wonderful classmates who are active in department activities so I always know I will see a friendly face at GSA meetings, philanthropic functions, and social events. Thank you for electing me as Treasurer--I look forward to a great year! |

| 4. Secretary: Elah Steltzer | |
Hi, my name is Elah. I’ve lived in NJ since I was five years old. In 2006 I graduated with honors with a B.S. in Biochemistry at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. After taking a two year break, I decided to enter the field of Food Science and I have just completed my first year of Graduate School. Becoming active in the GSA Food Science really enriched my first year and left me with many wonderful memories. I am honored to have been elected Secretary and cannot wait to make this another memorable year. |
