The Rutgers Food Science Alumni annually recognize our fellow alumni with Leadership, Science and Communication Awards, during the IFT Food Expo at the Rutgers Community Network Gathering.
Award Qualifications:
Leadership
A Rutgers Food Science alumnus serving in a leadership role in industry, academia or government who has brought honor to their own organization and to food science/ technology through their accomplishments.
Science
A Rutgers Food Science alumnus with a prominent career in food science and technology and has had impact in the form of innovations, patents, publications or other science/ technology accomplishments.
Communication
A Rutgers Food Science alumnus serving in a communication leadership role, such as editor of a magazine or journal, or in a public relations leadership capacity, who has had a visible impact on key issues in food science/ technology.
Award Recipients:
o Leadership: Dr. Ralph Jerome - serves as current VP of R&D at Masterfoods – major accomplishments in developing a revival of science based product development at Masterfoods
o Science: Dr. David Min – Ohio State University, a distinguished record of accomplishments
o Community: Dr. Missy Cody- Missy is a professor at GA St Univ and is on the Board of the Partnership for Food Safety Education, advocating safe food handling practices
