For six months, I was a Co-op with the Meals & Beverage sauce team, an opportunity that I landed through on- site campus recruitment. This helped me develop the much-needed skills to succeed in this field. Then for the last 18 months I worked as a contractor in the TSH where I led and coordinated cross-functional projects, worked with external partners, and helped navigate the team through technical challenges. I am pleased to announce that I have joined Campbell as an Analytical Scientist in the R&D Technical Solutions Hub (TSH). Where I will provide essential data and support for new product launches, innovation, enablers, and renovations in both the Meals & Beverage and Snacks divisions.

A very wonderful experience! I was able to apply my knowledge of what I learned in class, to a real-life setting. I also got to meet many people within the industry that helped support my growth as a budding food scientist. Since I worked at a smaller-sized company, I was able to work across various departments like QC, R&D, Flavor Department, and Regulations. I was able to see which fields suited me best, and discovered what I would like to further pursue at future companies.

I worked for PepsiCo as an R&D intern during the summer of 2020. Due to the pandemic, I was unable to work onsite and conduct experiments in Valhalla, but PepsiCo really created a unique and excellent virtual internship program. I was able to work for interfacial science team and conducted literature review related to emulsion applications on beverages, I also participated in a business competition together with students from other background (business, HR, supply chain). It was really a unique and rewarding experience and I learnt quite a lot from the company.

I interned at Nestle Health Science during the summer of 2019. The skills and knowledge I obtained in the Food Science program at Rutgers were essential in landing and succeeding in my internship. I worked on a technical processing project in high protein beverage where I created lab protocols to replicate pilot plant processing parameters on the lab bench. I also participated in sensory evaluations of new product prototypes and assisted in the scale-up of a new product. It was so exciting to connect what I had learned about food chemistry, thermal processing, and food analysis in class to the food industry!
